Here are some ways you can help the No More Excuses campaign right now...

1. Join!
We speak with politicians and the media on a regular basis. It helps to be able to tell them how many people we represent. Get everyone in your family, and everyone you know, to join. Unlike Autism Ontario, membership in the Ontario Autism Coalition is free. Visit our sign-up page and tell us a bit about your connection to autism. Send us a picture of your child for our website. We’ll put you on our e-mail list for notices about upcoming rallies. And we’ll give you practical, easy ways to help children with autism in Ontario, like the ones on this page. Yeah, I can do that!

2. Shake $5.10 out of your piggy bank, and buy a 10-pack of stamps...
It’s letter writing time. E-mail doesn’t cut it—much too easy to delete. Hardcopy is too solid to ignore—especially when lots of people write letters. If it’s at all possible, handwrite your letter. Here are some ways to use your ten stamps: Yeah, I can do that!

3. Download our petition, and get everyone you know to sign it...
There’s strength in numbers, and we have the support of most people in Ontario, even if they don’t have a family member with autism. Ask your family, friends, neighbours, and co-workers to sign. Circulate the petition at your place of worship, parent council meetings, service club meetings, and anywhere else you gather. Stand outside the supermarket, at the local shopping mall, the farmer’s market, or the public library for an hour on the weekend (after you ask for permission, of course). When you’ve collected your signatures, mail the petition to us, c/o Cindy De Carlo, 126 Taylor Drive, Barrie L4N 8L2. Yeah, I can do that!

4. Download our poster, and put it up around town...
When people find out about problems, they care. When we make it easy for them to help, they will. Click on the link below, print out our poster, make a few copies, cut between the tear-off strips at the bottom, and put it up at the supermarket, your church, the public library, the community centre, your early-years centre, your doctor’s office, Tim Horton’s, your school, college or university, the cafeteria at work, the bus terminal, the drug store, and anywhere else you can think of. Yeah, I can do that!

5. Write a letter to the editor...
We’ve provided an example, but customized letters work better. Tell your story. Explain how the waitlist or the lack of ABA in schools affects you and your family. Highlight our solutions. Yeah, I can do that!

6. Fundraising...
We’ve built quite a movement on the cheap, but gas and long-distance and printing and all those other things cost money. Would you or anyone you know be willing to make a financial donation? Yeah, I can do that!

Or maybe you can just help get the things on our wish list donated...Yeah, I can do that!

7. Meet with your MPP...
We’ve already met with over a dozen MPPs, but there are 103 of them at Queen's Park. Call your MPP’s constituency office and ask for an appointment.Yeah, I can do that!

8. Link to our website...
